Description

Global Take Off: Puerto Rico is a fully funded, five-day educational experience. UNC students will meet Puerto Rican students and community members, and the trip will include a combination of instructional and experiential opportunities as an introduction to Puerto Rican culture, politics, and identity and race relations, and faculty leaders will relate these broad topics to the overall program theme of environment. The trip offers collaborative learning with both UNC and University of Puerto Rico faculty and staff and career and personal development and networking opportunities. This program is part of UNC’s pan-university effort to significantly increase the number of traditionally underrepresented students who have access to global opportunities. As such, we encourage applications regardless of a student’s academic discipline, age, disabilities, educational or family background, gender identity, racial or ethnic identity, sexual orientation or socio-economic status. Applicants must: Be a UNC or Fayetteville State University first-year undergraduate or transfer student, have limited or no travel experience, and demonstrate a financial need.
