Enrolled UNC students and alumni who choose to apply through UNC should meet the September campus deadline. Those applying at-large must meet the national deadline in October. Applicants apply usually one year prior to implementation. For example, you apply in Fall 2016, for grants during the 2017-18 academic year.
Awards valued at approximately $25,000, but vary greatly depending on country.

Description

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program allows graduating-seniors, master’s students, doctoral candidates, and recent graduates to self-design a research/study project, or serve as an English Teaching Assistant in one of more than 140 countries. The Fulbright program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural affairs, is managed nationally by the Institute of International Education and at UNC by the Center for Global Initiatives.
